Here are some of our favourite podcasts that can encourage you, give you insight into authorship, help you worldbuild, and/or assist in learning the craft of writing:

1. Writing Excuses
“Fifteen minutes long, because you’re in a hurry, and we’re not that smart.”
Hosted by Margaret Dunlap, Mary Robinette Kowal, Mahtab Narsimhan, Brandon Sanderson, Howard Taylor, and Dan Wells, Writing Excuses digs into bite-sized bits of useful information.

2. Helping Writes Become Authors
Author K.M. Weiland offers one of the most useful podcasts if you actually want to dig into improving your craft. We especially love her episodes on story structure.

3. I Should Be Writing
A podcast by Mur Lafferty that focuses on “the emotional road blocks one finds in a writing career.” Most of the guests are sci-fi and fantasy writers.

While the best way to learn to write is actually doing it, listening to advice from successful authors is a useful way to keep on track.

Go forth and listen (and write)!
