Kyla Neufeld
Blog Author & Copy Editor
Kyla Neufeld is a poet, writer, and editor who lives in Winnipeg with her Sith Lord husband and Nazgûl daughter. She has a wide array of editing experience from working on a number of magazines and freelance projects. She’s also interested in the intersections of geek culture, feminism, and social justice, and is always looking for opportunities to write about them.
Kyla has been a geek since she read The Lord of the Rings at 13. Since then, she’s branched out to many sci-fi/fantasy worlds, including Hogwarts, Sunnydale, and the Old Kingdom. She’s also delved deep into Norse mythology and is currently writing a poetry series about Norse creatures.
Allison Alexander
Blog Author & Editorial Director
Allison has been an editor for seven years, working with seasoned and aspiring authors alike. The Executive Editor at Area of Effect magazine for three of those years, Allison enjoys working with nonfiction related to geeky topics, especially video games. For fiction, she adores science fiction and fantasy with fascinating characters, quirky adventures, and unique world building. Characters who represent marginalized people (especially chronic illnesses and disabilities) are especially attractive to her.
On her spare time, she can be found in Hyrule, Middle-earth, or a galaxy far, far away, probably in the company of her husband and imaginary pet owl.
